What's happening now.

The last Chimacum Creek Community meeting was held at the Chimacum Grange on February 26, 2020. Since that time over 20 property owners signed up for the Conservation Districts Creek Flow Restoration Project that was funded in part by a $50,000 grant the Conservation District received.  Work along the creek was performed by local professionals and land owners are looking forward to a much more realistic winter season in regards to less flooding of pastures. Land owners are responsible to keep up the work that was performed for the next five years- another reason why reinstating the Chimacum Drainage District would be an advantage- not all land owners have the equipment or means to sustain the work that was completed.
A Drainage District would protect landowners by having the financial stability to assist with projects with minimal, if any, out of pocket expenses from landowners. Please go to the Drainage District page to learn more!
